Attending SMDM Meetings has sharpened my research and presentation skills. As a member of the research abstract review committee, I feel proud to listen to abstracts that I reviewed being presented. In fact, SMDM has helped me a lot. Firstly, it granted me a travel scholarship award to attend the 14th Biennial European Meeting in Oslo, Norway. Through this award, I had the opportunity to become a member of the Society and also took some short courses in medical decision making during the conference. This is helping me in my professional career as a health system researcher and policy reviewer. I also had a fruitful discussion with my Meeting Mentor.
Finally, I got the chance to network with colleagues from diverse backgrounds: health professionals, policy makers and other stakeholders in the health care community.
