Short Courses

Short Courses offer a great opportunity to learn something new from leaders in the field. Whether you are new to the field of medical decision making and or a more experienced professional, there is a short course for you. It is a great way to broaden your knowledge base. Short courses are typically 3 – 5 hours in length. The courses listed below were offered in conjunction with SMDM Annual Meetings.

Core Courses - SMDM offers a curriculum of introductory-level core courses in foundational aspects of medical decision making. The core courses are:

  • Introduction to Cost-Effectiveness Analysis

  • Introduction to Shared Decision Making and Patient Decision Aids

  • Introduction to Medical Decision Analysis (Decision-Analytic Modeling)

  • Introduction to Psychology of Medical Decision Making
