Transportation From Portland International Airport (PDX) to Double Tree by Hilton Portland:

Taxi Information:

The average taxi fare from the airport to downtown is approxiately $35 before gratuity. The one-way trip takes 20-40 minutes. You can find taxis waiting in the center section of the airport terminal’s lower roadway outside of baggage claim. To get back to the airport from the city center, you can order a cab through the city’s main operators or from a hotel with a dedicated taxi stand.


Red Line MAX Light Rail Information:

The MAX light rail, with 97 stations and 60 miles of track connects the city, airport and region. The airport is located 9 miles (14.5 km) northeast of downtown Portland and is conveniently connected to the city center via MAX light rail train. The MAX light rail Red Line is the easiest way to travel to and from the airport. Here are some quick facts:

An adult ticket costs $2.50 (Youth $1.25, Honored Citizen $1). MAX ticket machines return change in coins, so small bills are recommended.

The first train of the day arrives at PDX at 4:45 AM. The last train departs PDX at 11:50 PM. Trains run approximately every 15 minutes. You can roll your luggage on board.

Attendees taking the MAX Light Rail from PDX will board the Red Line MAX train towards City Center & Beaverton Transit Center right from the baggage claim area at PDX and get off at the NE 11th Ave/Lloyd Center stop. The train ride takes about 30 minutes. The DoubleTree by Hilton hotel is located one half block west from the train station. Every Red Line MAX train leaving from PDX will stop at the NE Ave/Lloyd Center station. 


Rideshare services such as Uber and Lyft

Arrivals - After getting off a flight, follow the signs to "Ground Transportation" and "Baggage Claim." When ready, walk outside and look for "Passenger Pickups" or a designated area labeled, "TNC/Rideshares."

Departures - Rideshare services such as Uber and Lyft can drop you off at the departure level, along side regular passengers and taxis. Notify your driver of the airlines and preferably the terminal upon entering the airport premises.

Driving Directions from Airport (about 20 minutes): 

  1. Get on I-205 S

    1. Head northwest on NE Airport Way

    2. Slight left to stay on NE Airport Way

    3. Use the right 2 lanes to turn slightly right onto the Interstate 205 S ramp to Interstate 84/Portland/Salem

  2. Follow I-205 S and I-84 W/US-30 W to NE Lloyd Blvd. Take exit 1 from I-84 W/US-30 W

    1. Merge onto I-205 S

    2. Take exit 21B to merge onto I-84 W/US-30 W toward Portland

    3. Take exit 1 toward Lloyd Center

  3. Continue on NE Lloyd Blvd. Drive to NE 11th Ave

    1. Use the middle lane to continue on NE Lloyd Blvd and follow signs for OR-99E/Convention Center/Rose Quarter

    2. Turn right onto NE 11th Ave
