Dr. Matlock is the Director of the Colorado Program for Patient Centered Decisions at the University of Colorado Denver Anschutz Medical Campus. He has experience with funding from NIH, PCORI, AHRQ, DoD and more. Dr. Witteman is the Canada Research Chair in Human-Centred Digital Health and an Associate Professor in the Department of Family & Emergency Medicine, Université Laval (Laval University), Quebec City, Canada. Drs. Matlock and Witteman with share tips and resources to get your research funded.

AWARE (Actions to Work toward Advancing Racial Equity): Antiracism Workshop sponsored by SMDM Advocates for Equity

The SMDM Advocates for Equity interactive AWARE session will include 3 components: didactic introduction to Structural Racism through video and review; facilitated, small-group discussions of presented cases of micro-aggressions (difficult or uncomfortable race-related encounters witnessed or experienced in the work-place) to learn and practice anti-racism “Upstander” skills; and large group reporting and reflection to share insights.
