  • Dress/Attire: Business casual is appropriate for the meeting. Plan to bring a sweater or light jacket for evenings or air conditioned rooms. Comfortable shoes are recommended for walking.
  • Electricity: In Germany, the standard voltage is 230 V and the frequency is 50 Hz. You can use your electric appliances in Germany if the standard voltage in your country is in between 220 - 240 V. (US attendees should bring adaptors)
  • Currency: Berlin uses the Euro for monetary exchange. For current exchange rates, consult this currency calculator.
  • Insurance: International attendees should assess the need for international (travelers) medical insurance that will assist in covering any health-related expenses you may incur while you are in Germany. While accidents are rare, there is always a possibility of injury or sickness. Therefore, if you are interested in obtaining insurance, you should research options and arrange for coverage at least 30 days before you are scheduled to travel.
  • Time Zone: The time zone in Germany is Central European Time (GMT +1). Daylight saving time will be observed during our meeting (observed from the last Sunday in March (02:00 CET) to the last Sunday in October (03:00 CEST).
  • Tipping: While diners in Germany have a range of opinions about the proper amount to tip, leaving ten percent is a reasonable tip for good service. Even a five percent tip is acceptable, especially if you've only ordered a small item.
