2024 Substance Use Modeling Meeting

 

Drug overdose deaths continue to rise in the United States and Canada, with the risks for greater opioid use sharplyincreasing in Mexico. Simulation models have demonstrated their relevance in informing policiesand interventions to prevent overdoseand infections related to substance use disorderand will continue to bea valuable tool to address the opioid crisis that is surging across North America.

This workshop aims to improve the speed,validity, knowledge translation,and public health impact of substance use simulation modeling efforts to reduce fatal overdoses,and infectious complications of substance use. Weaim to convene this meeting together with people with lived and living experienceas focus of engaging with communities impacted first hand bythis work.

Symposium: Celebrating Cost Effectiveness Analysis

 

CEVR is pleased to announce a special symposium on Saturday, October 26 on “Celebrating Cost-Effectiveness Analysis.” Peter Neumann (Tufts-CEVR) and Gillian Sanders Schmidler (Duke-Margolis Center for Health Policy) are co-hosts, and the event will take place the day before the start of the annual meeting of the Society for Medical Decision Making (SMDM).

The event will feature panel discussions with luminaries in the field, showcasing the evolution of CEA and new developments since the 2nd Panel on Cost-Effectiveness in Health and Medicine. A reception to celebrate the 25th Anniversary of Tufts-CEVR’s CEA Registry will follow the program.

Tickets are free, but in-person seating is limited, so please reserve your tickets soon. We will release more information, including an agenda with details on speakers and symposium topics, in the weeks leading up to the event.
