SMDM 2021 Lee B. Lusted Sub-Award for Health Services and Outcomes and Policy Research
Please consider nominating a colleague or a mentor for the award!
SMDM seeks nominations of exceptional candidates who have made contributions in the area of Health Services Outcomes and Policy Research (HSOP) to have the Lee B. Lusted Student Awards in HSOP named after him/her. The honoree will have the sub-award named for him/her for five years.
Candidates for the HSOP sub-award will be evaluated according to the following criteria:
• Made a seminal contribution to the field
• Ongoing contributions/involvement with the Society
• Role in teaching and mentoring
Nominations should be less than one page and should include the nominee's c.v. Please submit your nominees by Friday, April 30, 2021 by sending the name of the nominee, a letter of support and CV to Teresa Belmont at info@SMDM.org.
The goal is for the honoree to reflect the diversity of our SMDM community as well as the diversity of our research as a Society. There are five categories for the Lee B. Lusted Awards: Decision Psychology and Shared Decision Making, Quantitative Methods and Theoretical Developments, Applied Health Economics, Heath Services and Policy Research, and Patient and Stakeholder Preferences and Engagement.
For the period 2017 - 2022, the Lee B. Lusted Student Award in the Decision Psychology & Shared Decision Making (DEC) category is named in honor of Dr. Margaret Holmes-Rovner.
For the period 2018 - 2023, the Lee B. Lusted Student Award in the Quantitative Methods & Theoretical Developments (QMTD) category is named in honor of Dr. Stephen Pauker.
For the period 2019 - 2024, the Lee B. Lusted Student Award in the Patient and Stakeholder Preferences and Engagement (PSPE) category is named in honor of Dr. Anne Stiggelbout.
For the period 2020 - 2025, the Lee B. Lusted Student Award in Applied Health Economics (AHE) category is named in honor of Dr. Milton C. Weinstein.

Nominations must be received no later than Friday, April 30, 2021 at 5 PM ET. Please send an email to Teresa Belmont at info@SMDM.org with the name of the nominee, a letter of support and CV. Any questions can also be directed to Teresa at the same email.
Recognition for the Lee B. Lusted sub-award will be made in October during the 43rd Annual North American Meeting which will be held virtually.
