Call for SMDM Digital Communications Committee Volunteers
The SMDM Board is thrilled to announce the creation of an SMDM Digital Communications Committee (DCC) that will help elevate the digital exposure of the Society and its projects. The DCC will develop the general policies of the Society with regard to its digital presence and communications, including branding elements, outgoing and incoming messages, and digital promotional activities. This includes oversight of the Society websites, social media platforms, push emails, and social media grant implementation. The Committee is supported by PMA, our administrative management firm, our Executive Director, as well as SMDM’s Executive Committee, Board and numerous volunteers.
Continuing with SMDM’s goals of promoting diversity, inclusion, and transparency, we are opening a call for members interested in contributing to the Society by serving on the DCC as a member or as one of the two Co-Chairs.
The Society strives to have committee leaders and members with diverse backgrounds and perspectives so that we have representation from multiple disciplines. Anyone with an interest in digital communications can offer valuable contributions and we hope will consider volunteering to serve on this committee. Additionally, to help ensure a global perspective, non-North American Members are particularly encouraged to respond.
The term is three years, and renewable. Please e-mail Diane Nickolson, SMDM Executive Director at DNickolson@SMDM.org with your interest, relevant experience, and reason for applying. We hope to receive your note of interest by 6 September 2020. Thank you.
