Talk Description: Shared decision making is increasingly recognized as a core competency in pediatric care, but there is still limited guidance on how to teach it effectively. In this presentation, Dr. Vanessa Orellana Villazon will share the development and evaluation of a competency-based curriculum for pediatric clinicians, including the curriculum design process, evaluation findings, and key lessons learned.
About the Speaker: Vanessa Orellana Villazon, MD, MPH, is a Postdoctoral Research Fellow at Cincinnati Children’s Hospital Medical Center. Her work focuses on pediatric shared decision making, competency-based medical education, and the development and evaluation of educational interventions.
