We are pleased to highlight a hands-on workshop for the 2026 SMDM Annual Meeting in Oslo, led by Tarun S. Choudhary, Senior Researcher at BCEPS and lead analyst for the FairChoices Decision Support Tool (www.fairchoices.org).
FairChoices is an innovative analytics platform designed to help countries conduct rapid, policy-relevant cost-effectiveness analyses across long lists of health interventions—while incorporating equity and distributive outcomes into the decision process. As global health systems face increasing pressure to allocate limited resources transparently and fairly, tools like FairChoices are becoming essential for evidence-informed priority setting.
In this interactive workshop, Tarun will guide participants through real-world examples of how FairChoices is being used to support national priority-setting processes. Attendees will work directly with the tool, explore its analytic framework, and learn how equity, financial risk protection, and population subgroups can be explicitly evaluated alongside traditional cost-effectiveness metrics.
Tarun will be joined by members of the global FairChoices: DCP Analytics Team, offering participants a unique opportunity to engage with the tool’s core developers and contribute to discussions about future applications in global and national decision making.
This workshop is ideal for researchers, modelers, HTA practitioners, policymakers, and students interested in practical, data-driven approaches to equitable priority setting. Further details and scheduling will be announced soon.
We look forward to seeing you in Oslo and welcoming you to this hands-on session.
